Drainpipe, Smash Face, Left Point – Stan Lawrence and friends share colorful memories of the legendary surf breaks of Kalapana, a village on the southeast coast of Hawaii Island where Kamehameha the Great was said to have practiced the “sport of kings.” A series of lava flows in the 1990s wiped out most of the village and altered the coastline and the shape of its waves. Now Lawrence has gathered his friends to share photographs and record memories of the surfing paradise they miss so much.
